nos relata un poco acerca de la civilización Europa Medieval. Todo empieza con
la caída del imperio Romano en el año 476, la creación de centros de enseñanza
genera el arranque de las matemáticas en Europa presenta a Gerberto como pionero
en esta actividad, menciona los monjes como los más interesados por el estudio
de las matemáticas, sin embargo afirma que la difusión de este conocimiento a
toda Europa no se da hasta que los musulmanes no rompen las barreras
lingüísticas. Finalmente nos habla de Leonardo de Pisa como máximo
representante de esta civilización por su libro del ábaco, un tratado sobre
métodos y problemas algebraicos, quien difundió en Europa el sistema de
numeración indu-arábigo y se ocupó del álgebra basándose en métodos
aritméticos.
